As an owner-manager you're already spinning so many plates. You need a straight answer, quickly. You may well be facing something you've never had to deal with before - a disciplinary, a grievance, a tricky absence situation, a member of staff who's become a problem - and you need to know what to do without wading through legal jargon or waiting days for a (generic) response.
Navigating legal worries
We talk it through. I ask the right questions, help you see the situation clearly, and tell you plainly what your options are so you understand the risks. You leave our conversation with understanding, and feeling far more in control.
The employers I normally work with aren't big enough to have an HR department. I'm the person they call when something comes up that they can't — or really shouldn't — handle alone. I work without retainers so you're only paying for time you really need; not a lengthy contract.
It's clarity when you really need it

Managing people well is a skill, and most people are just expected to pick it up as they go along. When businesses reach a certain point in their growth, the gaps start to show though. Performance conversations that just never happen, absence that quietly becomes a bigger problem; maybe disciplinary situations that get out of hand because nobody really knew what to do.
I regularly short, focused training - usually 2-3 hours, on-site or online - built around actual situations. Far richer than 'e-learning', we'll have time to talk about real scenarios; the kind your managers are already facing or are likely to face. They leave knowing what good looks like and feeling confident enough to act.

Sometimes there's a specific piece of work to be done that you don't have internal time and expertise for. Getting your contracts and handbook in order. A tricky investigation. Reviewing how you manage performance. Making sure your HR processes are doing what they should before something goes wrong.
Projects vary in scope - some take a few days, some a few weeks. We'll always start with a conversation about what you need and then pin down time and budget.
